This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the standards and requirements for approval of providers of continuing education in podiatric medicine through a Joint Provider Agreement between the American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA) and lerEXPO. APMA is approved by the Council on Podiatric Medical Education as a provider of continuing education in podiatric medicine. Learning Objectives for the APMA Complications Virtual Conference

1. Forefoot Surgery Complications

  • Identify common complications associated with forefoot surgical procedures, including hallux valgus corrections and metatarsal osteotomies, and develop strategies for prevention and management.

2. Hindfoot Surgery Complications

  • Analyze the risks and potential complications of hindfoot surgeries, such as subtalar fusion and calcaneal osteotomies, and apply evidence-based approaches to minimize adverse outcomes.

3. Diabetic Limb Salvage Complications

  • Evaluate the unique challenges in managing complications during diabetic limb salvage, including wound dehiscence, infection, and Charcot arthropathy, and implement multidisciplinary care protocols to improve patient outcomes.

4. Trauma Surgery Complications

  • Discuss the complications arising in foot and ankle trauma surgeries, including delayed unions, hardware failures, and soft tissue compromise, and explore advanced techniques for effective complication resolution.

Cancellation Policy

Written requests for registration refunds must be postmarked on or before the activity. Registration fees are refunded less a $25 processing fee. All refunds will be issued after the activity occurs. No refunds will be made after the event. Refunds are not granted to no-shows.
